Common Questions

What's the difference between PNG to SVG and PNG to Vector?
Basically the same thing — SVG is the most common vector format, and it's what every vector editor opens. Once you have the SVG, you can export as PDF, AI, or EPS from Illustrator, Inkscape, Figma, or Affinity Designer if your printer needs a different vector format.
Can I get an AI (Illustrator) file directly?
We output SVG. To convert to AI: open the SVG in Adobe Illustrator, then File → Save As → Adobe Illustrator (.ai). Takes 5 seconds. The AI file will be identical to the SVG in terms of shapes and colors.
Can I get an EPS or PDF for my printer?
Yes, but via a one-step export. Open our SVG in any vector editor (Illustrator, Inkscape, Affinity Designer), then File → Export As → EPS or PDF. Most print shops accept SVG directly nowadays, so this step is often unnecessary.
How is this different from PNG to SVG converters?
Same core function — the difference is intent. If you specifically need an editable vector file (not just a raster trace), and want the option to export as PDF/AI/EPS later, this is the right page. The output is identical to our PNG to SVG page.
Will the vector be truly editable, or a flat trace?
Truly editable. Every color in your PNG ends up on its own path in the SVG. Change any color individually, hide layers, resize any shape. Not a flat single-path trace.
Can I convert PNGs from ChatGPT, Midjourney, and Gemini?

Will the transparency of my PNG carry through?
